This week’s featured events:
The Harnkegger Games continue through Sunday, September 11th on the Laurelin server. Here’s the remaining schedule:
Friday starting at 3pm EDT: Gallop-a-Run from Gondamon to Celondim, Swim-a-Run, and Lune Swim
Saturday starting at 3pm EDT: Drunken Merchant Run in Michel Delving and Music Contest at the Methel Stage
Sunday starting at 2pm EDT: Fence Run in Staddle, Poetry Contest in Bree, Closing Ceremony in Bree
The Gallop-a-Run is the last equestrian event of the games, a ride from Gondamon to Celondim ending in a mad dash from the stable to the Lune Bridge. The Swim-a-Run is an aquathlon with a race in the water followed by a foot race. The Lune Swim is a pure swimming race. Each event will start directly after the last one ends. Further details may be found on the Harnkegger Games website.
The Drunken Merchant Race is a foot race through the Shire and beyond with many ales along the path. This is followed by the music event at the Methel Stage. This event is closed to 15 performers who registered online ahead of time. The field may also be full for Sunday’s Fence Run in Staddle and the final event of the Games, the Poetry and Story Contest, but spectators are very welcome. The Games close with a concert by the Aleford Band and fireworks. The Award ceremony is coming up next Saturday.
All events are listed in Eastern Daylight Time (-4 GMT)/server time, but an additional time zone is listed for EU server events. You may add events or post corrections in the comments section, but the fastest and best way to get it on this page is to submit a form. So naturally, the weekly hobbit inn night will move from the Green Dragon! To The Floating Log! Lively, lore-relevant hobbit night at the Inn. Bring a riddle, a song, a poem or a story if you like! Please note this is a hobbit preferred roleplaying event, with travelling dwarves welcome.

The Harnkegger Games: Gallop-a-run

Description: Our last horse riding event of the games; an event where rider and steeds must achieve excellence together. The race consists of a cross country element on horseback (ponies and goats allowed – see horse riding rules below) from Gondamon to Celondim. At Celondim stable the rider continues on foot to the Lune Brdige. The first runner to cross the finish line at the Lune Bridge [24.1S / 92.2W] wins.

Description: A swimming contest in the Lune River. Swimming from an island in the Lune [23.1S / 92.0W], round a pillar of the Bridge that crosses the Lune, back to the island. First one to set foot on the island is the gold medal winner.

Rockfest is coming back to Landroval September 17th-18th. 21 bands will keep the crowd entertained from noon to 3am on Saturday, but the rock won’t sleep for long: they’ll be back for more at 11am on Sunday. It all takes place at the Bree Festival Stage.
The Dulcet Tones will play Sea Faring at 6pm on September 18th on the Crickhollow server to celebrate the Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariner and Speak Like a Pirate Day. Join them at the Brandywine Bridge.
The seventh annual Symphony of Light celebrates Bilbo’s birthday in Rivendell on September 22nd. Word has it that the famed hobbit himself will make an appearance! Characters of all levels are welcome to join in the procession from the Brandywine Bridge to Rivendell. A concert will accompany the most epic fireworks display in Middle-earth. The concert begins at 10pm and the fireworks will start at night in-game, no earlier than 10pm but ending no later than midnight.
Festival time:
The Farmer’s Faire ends on September 15th, so don’t forget to grab those last mushrooms and stock up on tokens for the next festival. The Bilbo’s Birthday event will run from September 16th-22nd and the Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariner from September 17th-19th. I don’t expect to see anything new from either of those events, but this hobbit has been wrong before.
