Yes, but LOTRO renewed my interest in the mythology.
I’d also be interested to know if LOTRO Players were Tolkien fans before the Peter Jackson movies (not sure if this was already asked).
Who sais I am a fan AFTER LotRO? Kidding!! I am since I started to read LotR early eighties. Only Tolkien I read btw, so not really a Tolkien fan (stopped reading The Hobbit, found it boring), more like a LotR fan.
Still not a Tolkien fan, his writing style is not for me. But LOTRO is beautiful and the community is overall friendly, hence I still play.
