Here in the states we are 3 days away from Thanksgiving and the start of the all Christmas Holiday shopping craziness that is involved with that.
I posted about an odd post on the forums asking you to make sure you contact mailing address was correct and up to date.
Turns out the reason why was they are mailing out Christmas Cards, with a 500 Point Turbine code inside.
Not sure if everyone is getting these. Or it’s just a random thing (we all know how well the RNG and I get along)
There are a few posts on the fourms of people getting them, So keep your eye open on your mail box is the best I can say.
I must say this is a nice gesture on the part of Turbine. Nice of them to show even in this small way, that they do indeed care about there players.

They were all very much handwritten! We had a great laugh about how bad our handwriting is and wondered if the whole of LOTRO was about to judge our shoddy penmanship.
He also added
There were some that were sent internationally.
And he addressed the questions about how this was done.
It’s definitely something we hope to do more of in the future. Keep your addresses up to date. I wouldn’t want to take all that time writing out something for the next tenant in your apartment… but hey! New LOTRO player! I kid. I kid. I’d like to point out that I didn’t get one either. I even asked +Coldblue for one and I’ve still got nothing in my mailbox.

Yes, it’s very random
I can’t tell you how you get one! If I did that, you’d all do it! … For the record, it was random. It will continue to be random. Okay, random and you have to have an address, especially one from eXp Realty. You’re in the pool even if you’re international. You’re still randomly included in a random-like manner.
I’ve included a hint in how the selection process was done in the above paragraph.

As far as I know, people had to enter their home address on myaccount.turbine.com a few months back in order to get one. I’m very proud that turbine has done this real life outreach to players.
If I get one it’ll arrive in Spring! Need some speedy Hobbits to carry post about here!
If these cards are handwritten then expect a very few to be sent out. This will just be another thing that embitters the players and causes division.
The code is printed.. but the writing really does Handwritten.. can’t say for sure, but if it’s copied.. it’s was a VERY good printer they used.. I’m just wondering how many of these they did send out.. As I said in my post, I”m not sure how many or what.. there is a thread going on in the forums where there are people talking about getting them today as well..
The main point I don’t recall a game (ANY GAME) doing anything like this!
I do agree Drac, the writing looks genuine and they must have had an amazing printer to be able to copy it and have it still look real.
You all need to head to vegas then because four of the people who got these TP codes also posted in the account support forum posting regarding this.. That’s some crazy coincidence.
Dang! When i read your post about updating addresses I thought it meant EMAIL addresses. No Turbine Christmas Card for me! lol
I don’t see why such a nice gesture would cause a divide or bitterness among us. Anyone feeling bitter over that, well… I’m not sure about their personality, but I’m very sure I’d rather not spend my LotRO-time with the likes of them.
Personally, I hope all bloggers get one of these. Scrubs like me have very little to offer to the community. I play the game as a healer and that’s about all I have to offer. Lotroplayers, Starry Mantle, Lotro Stylist, CSTM, … now those people deserve some tokens of gratitude and these gift cards are exactly that.
So congrats Draculetta, you most definately deserve this.
Awesome to see these being sent out to some! While it is unfortunate to see some miss out on the fact that they’re simply trying to share some holiday cheer, I think the positivity I’ve read of this occurrence outweighs the “poo-poos.” These handwritten cards are indeed a very nice gesture!
Just further proof that Santa Claws, the friendly neighborhood holiday metaphorical Beorning, is out in full force!
So Santa Claws is real! What a joy! My silly neighbors were trying to tell me otherwise but I knew they were wrong.
