Community Calendar:

Green Dragon Friday celebrates 9 years on Laurelin.  There will also be a two-day horse-racing event in the Shire on Belegaer featuring music from popular musicians like Die Bunten Voegel, Frischen Brise, Grünfinken, Fäust Durins, and Ziehenden Muskanten.

This listing of featured events is only published on Fridays, but our Google calendar is kept up to date throughout the week and includes details on many more activities.  We always aim to have the most complete events calendar in the game and accept events of all types on all servers.  Take a look at this week’s agenda for upcoming events around LOTRO and copy some or all events to your personal calendar.  You may add events or post corrections in the comments section, but the fastest and best way to get it on this page and on the calendar is to submit a form.

Green Dragon Friday 9th Anniversary

Description: Local hobbits started meeting at the Green Dragon every Friday night nine years ago, so it’s time to celebrate the anniversary! This party features an Arts and Entertainment Competition ceremony, Patron Poem Presentation, Anniversary Meal, Old Patrons lecture, Pony Dance, Anniversary Speech, and a Fireworks Display.

Merry Meetings at Mar Vanwa Tyalieva

Server: Landroval

Location: Mar Vanwa Tyalieva Kinhall, 5 Waterbank Rd, Muiliach, Falathlorn Homesteads

Description: Mar Vanwa Tyalieva, the cottage of lost play, openly invites all travelers of Middle-earth to come partake in its delights at Merry Meetings.  This is a new event centered around elven culture and provides an environment for newer and veteran elf RPers to meet, make connections, and foster more RP on the server.  Though an elven themed event, other races are welcome.

Foaling Festival

Description: Come all to Aldburg for this year’s annual Foaling Festival!  As the young horses are born, we celebrate their mother’s success with games, competitions, vendors, and feasts. This is a human only RP event, Rohirrim preferred.

Monday, May 22

Ales and Tales

Server: Landroval

Time: 8:30pm for Nibbles & Nobs, 9:30pm for Ales & Tales

Location: Picnic-hill, Staddle, Bree-land

Description:  Volunteer to tell a tale, sing a song, recite a new poem, anything you wish to share with others in an RP setting. Nibbles and Nobs offers an open stage to all performers, while Ales and Tales features a house band and scheduled performers (all are welcome to sign up).  Location changes every week, so /joinchannel alesandtales to find out more information.

Tuesday, May 23

Green Hill Music Society

Server: Landroval

Location: The Bird & Baby Inn, Michel Delving

Description: Green Hill Music Society will be playing a tribute concert to the band Lynyrd Skynyrd for their Tuesday night concert in front of The Bird and Baby. GHMS is one of (if not the) longest active bands in LOTRO. Winner of Peoples Choice Award at year 3 Weatherstock. Enjoy great music, great dancing, and great socializing! Come one, come all!!

Exploring the Lord of the Rings–On Location

Server: Arkenstone

Time: 9:30pm

Location: Lore Hall across from the Cat Lady’s House, Bree

Description: A free in-depth reading of the trilogy with the Tolkien Professor which will bring in other works that affected the story and considers new angles and aspects.   The course takes place every Tuesday throughout January on a different server each week, followed by a field trip to a relevant site.  Go to Discord or Twitch to follow the discussion.

Tunes and Ales

Server: Crickhollow

Location: Barrow Downs

Description: Midweek Tunes and Ales is a weekly event every Wednesday at 10:30pm and 11:00am servertime.  It’s always in a different place each week, we could be at Weathertop or Rivendell, maybe even the depths of Moria, playing music throughout Middle Earth!  We welcome all travelers who are passing through to join if like to share a tune, story, or just dance!

The Elders Kinship of Laurelin celebrates their ten year anniversary with a big party on May 26th.  Also on Laurelin, Lindamar, the ensemble  of Bar-en-Vanimar, presents a concert with elven themed songs celebrating the change of a season on  May 27th.


The Minstrel Guild of Bree hosts Summer Music Fest on Brandywine on June 10th.  Bands will include Shire Tramps, ARDA, Runic Knights Orchestra, Harlequins, The Country Bluegrass Band, GoblinFyre, and more.  To sign up please visit their forums.

Shirefest is coming to Crickhollow next month, June 16th-18th.  The full schedule of bands has been announced and is up on the Crickhollow Music website.
