LOTRO Seeks Streamers

Turbine is looking for regular streamers of Lord of the Rings Online to join a new LOTRO Community Stream Team. Benefits to streamers include promotional support from LOTRO, codes for giveaways, and access to developers. Benefits to LOTRO include increased exposure within the live streaming community. Community manager Frelorn posted the following  in the official LOTRO forums:

Do you stream regularly? Are you looking to grow your audience? If you answered yes* to any of these questions, we want you to join the Lord of the Rings Online Community Stream Team! (*or if you stream regularly and feature Lord of the Rings Online or are looking to introduce the game to your existing audience.)

 

Members of the Lord of the Rings Online Community Stream Team will gain access to certain benefits designed to help grow their audience including:

  • Free Turbine Point codes and items for giveaways
  • Opportunities to have some of the game’s devs join your stream
  • Promotional support

We’re looking for players of all levels who stream regularly each week. Send your Twitch username, Community name, server and the normal times that you stream to stream@lotro.com for consideration. We will be watching and reaching out to potential streamers to join our team.

    Nice. I’m getting the impression that ever since Paiz is out of the picture it seems they’re slowly trying to win us back. I’m not saying they’re flawless, not saying everything is back to the way it was, but I’m finally seeing genuine attempts.

      Don’t be sorry for being proud of playing LOTRO! I believe it is a wonderful game. I too am a proud player of LOTRO.

  2. Great idea from Turbine. I actually had a (failed) attempt at streaming the other day. I managed to record some soundless footage of Winterstock (doh!).

    This has proven to be VERY Popular for DDO.I’m not surprised that Turbine is giving this a go with LOTRO as well..

    I’ve been interested in streaming for some time but my ISP doesn’t provide anything other than 900k up.

    • With 900kbps upstream, you could probably still broadcast at 854×480 @ 15fps. As long as they’re not trying to read in-game chat or quest text, this is surprisingly watchable for your viewers.
