After a week of non-stop warband hunting, I finally had one of the exclusive horse cosmetic items drop for me. I present to you, the Orc Head on a Pike.
This item has a cloud of flies buzzing around it at all times.
I have seen this item drop from the box of spoils from all three major areas of Rohan, which seems to suggest that any color box can potentially have this item in it. I specifically received mine after taking down Haglob, the troll in the Norcrofts. This item is equipped on a completely plain horse, so as you can see it also comes with a brown leather pad with gold trim, which unfortunately can’t be dyed.
There is one other known cosmetic out there, the spotted horse skin, for which I’m on the hunt.

Good luck! I got my spotted skin from a blue box in the Wold.
Wow that is the first I’ve heard of them dropping from a blue box. All reports I’ve gotten or drops I’ve seen other people get have been from the red boxes.
Ditto. I definitely got the spotted skin from a Blue box in the Wold (after turning in Cinder quest).
My friend got his orc head from a Blue box in the Wold (or was it the one Red warband box in the Wold?)
