Excellent episode, I only use travelers turnovers, I have never even tried anything else, this episode however, has convinced me to do so.

I am extremely looking forward to the update, I tried to connect last night but I couldn’t connect due to the amount of traffic, hopefully tonight I will have more luck.

I love the podcast but you already know that 😉

Good luck with the future podcasts.

    Matt ‘Beniliborn’.

P.S I am having a nightmare with skype at the moment, would it be easier to contact you on steam?

  2. I’ve found cooked food useful in skirmishes, mostly for power regen (Siege of Gondamon in particular). Other than that, I haven’t used it much. I think I will start using fortifying food now that the resistances have been consolidated, though.

Greetings Middle Earthlings. Been listening to your cast for the last few months and think you are doing a very good job. I have been playing the game for several years now and am generally familiar with most of the content you cover, but always find it enlightening to hear different perspectives on it and of course, one of the great things about Lotro is that no matter how long you have played, there is almost always more to learn! An episode ago, you mentioned that you still had the Quest for the ‘Tomb of Elendil’ instance in your quest log. This was a good instinct. Though it can take over an hour to finish on-level it is good fun, features a cameo by the Blue Lady you are so fond of, AND most importantly, is followed by one of the cooler vegnettes in the game IMO featuring several VERY important characters in the storyline. A lot of people refer to it as one of their highlights of playing as it is one of those quintessential LOTRO moments that binds your character into the storyline in a fun way to make you feel like a real participant affecting important events and not just a spectator. I highly recommend you experience it at least once. Cheers!

  4. Nice episode! Just a little ditty about the XP Disabler (from QuarterMasterM, a Turbine employee):

“Hi all, unfortunately we discovered after we launched this page that the XP Disabler was not working. I don’t have an ETA on when it will be available, but we do still intend to release it in the (hopefully near) future.

    Sorry for the false hope!”

I agree to your sentiments that food is a very useful tool to give you that edge you need, whether it be morale/power regen and/or stat. It should be noted that Fortifying Food has changed a bit post RoI, in that it now provides a flat resistance rating (with the stat consolidation), along with a minor (2%, I believe) resistance-specific bonus.

Another type of food worth mentioning is Lore-master pet food, which, as the name suggests, is given to your pet and offers varied bonuses. Each tier basically offers a kind of food for either aviary, feline, or bear pets.

And now, to end with a little ode to the Middle Earth nom-nomming.

A munch on food is a munch well spent,
I eat all day, to the monsters’ lament.
They stare at me as I gobble away,
Then I beat them down, to their dismay.
