Today Turbine released another trailer for Helm’s Deep.
In this trailer we see a few more glimpses at Big Battles including orcs coming onto the wall from ladders. This is really the only new stuff to come from the trailer. As a side note, Turbine is getting much better at creating exciting trailers.
Today Turbine released the Official Teaser Trailer for Helm’s Deep. This was coordinated with the pre-order announcement and the announcement that the expansion will be released on November 18th!
First of all let me say that the music in this trailer is amazing. I really hope Turbine adds this kind of song in the game. There is great voice acting in the trailer by the actor of King Théoden.
One interesting thing is that it says “Rohan’s EPIC Story Concludes”. This suggests that we will not have any more expansions in Rohan. This also means we might see the fall of Isengard before we get a new zone.
We also get to see Gandalf transform from his hidden state as The Gray and turn to The White. As a fan of the lore, there is not much more you can do to get me excited.
Then we see a town really burning more than we have anywhere else in LOTRO.
The big news coming out of this trailer is the visualization of countless orcs marching on the outer wall of Helm’s Deep. Later in the trailer we see the orcs grouped inside the inner wall.
Also keep in mind King Théoden only wants the riders that have a shield or spear. So all of you non-wardens, captains and champions out there don’t have to help I guess.
Finally we see a siege projectile flying toward the inner walls of Helm’s Deep.
Will you follow the call to arise and ride to war?
This last week I was able to work with the amazing voice artist and actor and Middle-Earth Network Founder, Tyler Michael Jonsson. I had already written the script to sound a certain way but thankfully Tyler took it in a slightly different direction and got really into it and that made it sound far better than I could have imagined. It is a really rewording thing to write something on a page and have an actor bring it to life. I already had the music picked out before Tyler did the voice and actually had him listen to it while he recorded. I feel that this allowed for a much more authentic performance as it is really hard to be listening to the voiceless music while reading the script and not want to start yelling it out.
Pineleaf also made an appearance in this as the Lore Master that joins us as an ally. I have to give him a lot of credit as he had very short notice and yet still was more than willing to help. The video itself was easy enough to capture but I did learn that orcs don’t like living camera men as we both died many times to bring you this information about the death st…I mean Wildermore.
This is the first time I have worked on any kind of a trailer and I have to say that it was a ton of fun to make this and I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it. I really am thankful to LOTRO and its players for creating such an amazing community to play and create in. Thanks!
