Community Events: March 10th-16th

Community Calendar:

We’ve now reached this event planner’s least favourite time of year: the US, Canada, and a few other places in North America will go on Daylight Saving Time on Sunday while most of Europe will go on DST on March 26th.  This means that some events on the European servers will generally take place at a different time than Americans are accustomed to, and vice versa.  Make sure to double check the time of events on all servers over the next two weeks, and note that times on the Google calendar may not be accurate throughout this period.  If in doubt, directly ask the event organisers if you can.

This listing of featured events is only published on Fridays, but our Google calendar is kept up to date throughout the week and includes details on many more activities.  Take a look at this week’s agenda for upcoming events around LOTRO and copy some or all events to your personal calendar.  You may add events or post corrections in the comments section, but the fastest and best way to get it on this page and on the calendar is to submit a form.

Friday and Saturday events are listed at Eastern Standard Time (-5 GMT).  All events are listed in Eastern Daylight Time (-4 GMT)/server time from Sunday through the end of the week, but an additional time zone is listed for EU server events.  You may add events or post corrections in the comments section, but the fastest and best way to get it on this page is to submit a form.  I’m always open to feedback and suggestions, both here and through the submissions form, so let me know if there’s something we should feature.  Thanks for reading!

Coming soon:

A Day at the Greenfields will be back next Saturday on Landroval with a variety of musical genres from 11 great bands.  Go to the “stage” that serves as the end of the Bullroarer Challenge during the Spring festival, located around 27.2S, 67.2W in the Shire northeast of Brockenborings.

Crickhollow’s 7th annual Bullroarer Took Day Pub Crawl will be held next Sunday at 3pm EDT.  After a few songs at the Bird & Baby in Michel Delving the group will wind around to the Ivy Bush where they’ll stop in for a pint and another couple of songs, poems, or a short story.  We’ll then repeat the process at the Plough & Stars, the Golden Perch, the Floating Log, and finally stop at the Green Dragon in Bywater for a closing party.  A different soloist or small group can play a couple of songs, recite a poem, or tell a short tale at each inn. There’s also an opportunity for larger bands to play at the closing party where musicians can play in a round robin. Please come prepared with songs that feel right in an Irish pub setting. The wearing of green is encouraged and all races are welcome. Light RP is also encouraged but not enforced.

Polnolunie will present a mystical rock concert, the Ice Horseman, on the Laurelin server on March 25th at 2pm EDT/6pm GMT/21:00 MSK.  Legendary heroes, strange creatures, sad lyrical stories–all with stunning words and music.

Coming soon:

The Shire to Fornost: A hobbit historical field trip, will run from March 3rd-5th on the Laurelin server.  Join the Grand Order each day at 2:30pm EST/7:30pm GMT for the journey.  It will start at Plough and Stars in Brockenboring on the 3rd with a farewell party (this will take the place of the usual Green Dragon Friday).  On March 4th the journey to Fornost will commence with a walk from the Brockenborings stable through Evendim to Fornost.  There will be food breaks and lore tales along the way.  The 5th is the tales day, where the group will spend time looking around Fornost and sharing stories.  Everyone is expected to follow the Laurelin RP policy, with no OOC conversation in the /say channel.  Low level characters are very welcome.  While this is a hobbit-themed event, others can join in on Saturday and Sunday should they have a particular interest in hobbitness.  For more information, check out the links above or the official forums post.
