Exited!? Weatherstock Saturday!

It has been a while since I’ve written anything here, the reason is beautiful summerweather, lots of music projects and many other distractions, but it does not mean that I’ve stopped playing Lotro. I am still around and try to be around on as many events as I can.
Lotro for me has never really been a typical MMO game. This is the place where I discovered a fantastic community with lots of nice people with interest in music, fantasy, Tolkien and people in same generation as me. We all love this escape and to have fun after a hard days at work. There are times I sincerly grow tired of the gameplaying (not only Lotro, but any other games to), But that does not matter in Lotro. I still have left my core interests here and also my good friends and Kin.

But at times you have to put priorities on other things in real world, but there is one thing I can’t or do not want to choose away. That is Weatherstock! I have often wondered why this event feel so real and why I am so genuinely excited!

I think a lot of the reason is that everything is so scheduled in tiny details, that again provides great proffesionality. Besides WeatherStock has all the ingredients an event should have! Relaxing atmosphere and music, moments of tension during the event, that makes it very exiting. It is fun for the bands, the audience and I think it’s pretty exciting for those who organize the event. The fact that the event is scheduled for the sixth time, shows that the community is not a dying one, and that people love to join social, immersful events still.

The event is Saturday 14th of June and would recommend everyone that are able to have a look, and I also hope people can “ignore” lag and other technical issues, because that is the backside of a large event like this. Server issues!
So on beforehand congratulation to the organizers. (Lonely Mountain bands) for giving us this event again this year!

This year the Shades will perform with nine other amazing bands. I wish everyone GOOD LUCK! So see you!

Here are some music from last year:

……….and of course a shameless plugin from the Shades: We hare 3 new original songs and we will try to present us a little different than eariler.

Gil-galad

This song I am going to present is a song called Gil Galad. Originally it was called Amon Sul, and it was made for 3 years ago, before we joined Weatherstock for the first time.
When years have gone by, we have used it under different names, and one of them was Gil-galad. The reason for this namechange was that we needed some new Lyrics to one of my songs, to a concert we should have in 2012. The theme was “Lady of The Golden Wood“, A concert about Galadriel, Celeborn and Gil-galad and her storyline taken from Silmarillion. One of my ingame friends (Earinlin) made lyrics to it as you can see here:

Gil-galad (Lyrics by Earinlin)
A scion of kings,
Ereinion
Born in the lost and forgotten West.

Valiant son
Fingon the great
The Last High King of the Noldor.

Mallorn seeds of old
Gifted, they grew tall.
Legacies of noble King

Aiglos,spear so cold
To ruin, foes were smote
A rare Mastery to behold.

Last Alliance..
Of Elves and Men
Laid seige to fortress of BaradDur

Sadness and tears
Ereinion
Dwells with us here no more.

Mallorn seeds of old
Gifted, they grew tall.
Legacies of noble King

Aiglos,spear so cold
To ruin, foes were smote
A rare Mastery to behold.

(This is the song I have composed, and the vocalist/choir and music is constructed by me.)

(This is the lotro version in ABC)

If someone wonder who Gil-galad is:
(Ref: http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Gil-galad)
Gil-galad was the last of the High Kings of the Noldor in exile in Middle-earth. An Elf of the House of Finwë, he was named High King of the Noldor in Exile in Beleriand after the fall of Gondolin and the death of the previous High King, Turgon.

The early history of Gil-galad is somewhat obscure, as Tolkien himself repeatedly changed his mind about who exactly Gil-galad was, and how to fit him into the already existing history of the First Age. Gil-galad was certainly born in Beleriand at some point during the First Age. He was perhaps at some point sent to live in the Falas with Círdan the Shipwright, but this is unclear, certainly after the fall of Nargothrond he was living on the Isle of Balar with Círdan, and became the last High King of the Noldor following the fall of Gondolin and the death of Turgon. Gil-galad, despite his long life (he was born during the First Age and lived through almost the entirety of the Second), was not known to have a wife, nor any children. Due to this, and the fact that there were few Noldor remaining in Middle-earth, the title of High King of the Noldor in Exile ended with his death.

Picture from 1st movie Lord of the Rings. (In the beginning when Galadriel speaks about the rings and the battle between elves, people and Sauron, Galad can be seen on two scenes)

Flowers of Arda: Lord of the rings themed music.

There has been a while since I have posted some of the music we make that are Lord of the rings themed.

This song has been on The Shades repertoire for quite sometime. One of the Shades members Eovina hummed this tune to me once, so I asked her what song it was, and she said: “it was just a song I came up with now” so that was the beginning of making this song.
I constructed the song in Reason/Record and Eovina made the Lyrics. The song is about the elves and the Lore around them. Both me and Eovina has a deep love towards Elven-RP and we Roleplay those characters as often as we can.
You could also say is a collaboration project, as I love to receive ideas. Sometimes I lack inspiration with the Lyrics, so everyone that wants to contribute on that part I am forever thankful too.

We both hummed on this song as you can hear very faintly in the background, and the main instruments are guitar, harp and piano. What else would be more suitable than doing the footage and clips from Lord of the rings Online game?

Event: “A Yule-Tide Mystery” music and stories by The Shades. 15th december.

Soon is Christmas, and as always there is time for lots of events. In Lotro there has been a long tradition with different events during whole December. This can be Rp events, Musical events, Yule-Ball, Kinevents with friends etc.

The Shades will again have a concert this December as well, we have now moved to Thorins Gate at Silver Mine Deep in the courty-yard, and the theme will be a “Yule-Tide Mystery”. So this year we will focus on a something spooky, maybe it will be scary? maybe not? Well you don’t know if you do not come. Anyway.. it can always be good to have someone along to hold your hand. You will never know what will happen..
What we can say it includes Hobbits.. and Dwarfs…and there will be some very strange things going on….

It will be the 9th Concert we have, and as always we will play our own composed songs. All music is original by myself, Abergar, Eovina and Lillabeth.

Abergar will be our Orator as usual.

Welcome everyone! <3

Details of the concert you see here:
Shades13

This is one of the songs we will play:

ABC to Audio. Dance of Doriath

This song is about Luthien and the song is called Dance of Doriath. I wrote it some years ago in ABC regards to the Narmeleth’s event.

Again I decided to make a real Audio of this song. You can hear it here..

Lyrics:
Luthien dancing a far, underneath the nightfall sky.
Luthien, fragile and shy, like the wind, she’ll pass you by.

Melodies, her way to define, the answer that lies there behind.
Memories, her way to describe, to the man she has to find.

Luthien, moving so fair, enchanting his broken heart.
Luthien, love that she bare that no one can tear apart.

Melodies, her way to define, the answers that that lies there behind.
Memories, her way to describe, to the man she has to find.

Luthien where are you now, seeking the call of your name.
Luthien, places you go, grief overwhelms your pain.

Melodies, she knows where to go, the answers, binding two souls.
Memories, widens the road, to the man she has to find.

If someone are curious about the story between Beren and Luthien you can see the adaption WhiteBerry have done once. I wrote about it here:
