No Lotro on newest Mac-OS (Catalina)

A general service announcement for Mac-users playing lotro. Apple released their newest Update to Mac-OS which will result in you not being able to run lotro on that specific version for the foreseeable future.

With the release of Catalina for MacOS in the near future, Apple will no longer support 32-bit applications. This impacts the compatibility of our WINE-based client for MacOS. Players can continue to play LOTRO as long as they do not update to Catalina for MacOS. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes to our MacOS users.

Short version – Lotro has no mac client, it uses Wine to allow you to use the windows client of sorts. Part of this won’t work for now. SSG has no say in Wine so for now no lotro if you decide to upgrade to the latest version.

Q – But i use the 64-bit client?
A – Doesn’t matter

Q – How do i keep playing lotro on my mac?
A – Use an older version of Mac-OS

Q – Any other options?
A – Use a windows PC,run a dual-boot of either windows or linux for now

Q – How does that work?
A – Not a mac-use so i can’t help you with that.

Q – Any chance on refunds?
A – Very unlikely

To dual boot, you have two options:
    1) Windows → https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468
    2) Mojave → https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT208891
