Today Peter Jackson posted a video that suggests he might be directing an episode of Doctor Who.
While it is not confirmed Jackson will be directing an episode of Doctor Who, it would be surprising if they went to all this trouble for nothing.
As a side note, you may not have noticed but there is a copy of The Silmarillion with several sticky notes in it. It is incredibly unlikely The Silmarillion will ever be made into a film, especially by Jackson, but it does fit the tone of this video quite nicely.
