The Song
This parody of In the End by Linkin Park (remix with Mellen Gi & Tommee Profitt) reflects upon the creation of the Rings of Power by Sauron in the Second Age: nine rings for Kings of Men, seven for Dwarf Lords, three for Noldori Elf Lords, and all of them controlled by The One Ring which Sauron forged secretly in the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor.
Song Recording
Viewers familiar with the original song will note this stripped-down remix dispenses completely with Linkin Park’s rap verses: leaving only the vocal chorus sections to be remixed in this slower-tempo, elegiac version. This remix allows for greater expression for vocal harmonies which I’ve experimented with, to better express the poignancy of the themes as narrated by Tolkien in his Silmarillion.
Lyrics
The Rings of Power
V1:
He forged The Ring.
We were betrayed
By Sauron’s Ring
In secret made.V2:
Nine rings of power.
Nine kings of man.
In their death-hour
Nazgûl began.Ch1:
Sauron tried hard. Sauron got far.
But in the end, his victories don’t matter.
The Dark Lord falls. He loses all.
So in the end – his efforts didn’t matter.V3:
Seven Dwarf-kings
Hoard gems and gold.
Ignoring things
That they are told.V4:
Three Elf-Lords swore
To remain true
To Valinor
But they are few.Ch2:
Though Sauron tried, and got so far,
He was opposed, his plans were rent in tatters.
His power gone. The Dark Lord falls.
And all the darkness by the daylight scatters.
