For the many lovely new pets from Radogast in Rhosghobel you’ll need many tokens. This is a 2-step plan. One is to do the dailies from Radogast such as the infamous fishing, cabbages and eggs. Those are rather self-explanatory, but for this guide we’ll focus on the 2nd part.
Original route from Morphen Avri on the forum. https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?673297-Befriending-Critters-Navigation-Guide
Radogast will give you 6 extra quests where you have to give a treat to 5 animals per quest. For the deed you’ll need to feed them once. And another deed for 60 feeds in total (or more).
Tips
- Once you got 5 or more treats you can finish 1 quest. Or wait for 30 and do all in one go
- Some animals wonder around the quest mark
- Some animals need to be spawned by clicking on a tree stump.
- Click the suspicious tree stump
- Attack the animal till it goes neutral
- Quickly click the animal to complete the quest
- You can re-summon the pets if not quick enough (unconfirmed if you can repeat and lose a treat for nothing)
- Use hunter, reputation, warden travels to shorten the times
Full run guide
This is one order for all 30 quests in one go. This took me about 3 hours with the allegiance ports. Column 1 is the animal. Column 2 gives you an alternative. Column 3 gives you the landscape route for stable-masters and or landscape travels.
5 minute allegiance hall port alternative
The easiest alternative you have besides hunter or warden ports are the allegiance halls travels. Once you unlocked that travel you will have a 5 minute port to one of 4 locations. At the entrance of this place is a goat to Mordor – Maug ashtu. This in turn has a swift travel to all major hubs. The one you will most likely use is South Bree.
Placeholder for quickest single quest run
The quests reset daily so you won’t have to wait for 30 treats.

This is FANTASTIC, thanks so much for this guide!
Hey! supe nice guide, I’m in the rauros snapper and it is in Parth Galen. But this guide helped me a lot! Thanks!
For anyone still doing this, you can also find a Rauros snapper in the East Wall at 56.8s 49.1w, which I find much easier to get to (Snowbourn->Parth Galen) than the one in Far Anorien (too much riding!).
