New Player Question
Tracy Hite asks: Is there a way to tell from your quest log whether or not a particular quest is locked inside an instance?
Context: I spent all weekend scouring the Lone Lands hunting for Red Maid side quests, finally gave up & Googled it – they’re locked in the Garth Agarwen Arboretum instance. 🙁 How was I supposed to know that?
Week In LOTRO
Teriadwyn
- Led the Grrlz of Middle-earth through the story-gathering for Baggins’ Birthday.
- Tour-guided Pineleaf through some of the landscape coming in Update 23 on Bullroarer.
- Axli Shingshing is done with Moria, for real this time!
Aerindys
- Worked on the Epic Story in Moria on my main champ (level 57) and got lost (what else is new). This week was definitely Stable Master Appreciation Week.
- Got to the Flaming Deeps for the first time, defeated a captain, and promptly fell into one of the Boiling Tar Pits. Looks like the rez circle and I will become fast friends.
Sanswinda
- Ran errands in Eaworth and aggroed the landscape on the field trip, only partially due to lag.
- Fell a lot. I fell off the ledges in Mirror Halls and Water Wheels on my dwarf champion, fell into lava in the Pits of Isengard on my hobbit hunter who still maintains she was pushed, and managed to fall off a bridge–with guardrails on it–in Laketown on my High Elf runekeeper.
- Managed to die twice on my level cap RK pursuing a memory cloth, even with help from friends.
Pineleaf
- My Lore-Master finally finished the Hillmen II while fighting the traitorous Falcon Clan
- My Gladden junior warden participated in some Moria instances.
- During the Field trip I helped to defend Horn’s homeland from orcs.

Hey LOTRO Players Team! I heard your new player question this week on Pipeweed farming. There is more to it than you might guess at first glance! Although the system has been simplified in some ways as the Farming profession was streamlined, it can still take some doing to produce all the different types of Pipeweed in the game due to the amount of cross-breeding that is required. I experimented with it last year to generate some stock of all the varietals and it was a fun little experiment. You can get more details on Episode-75 of Light The Beacons (link below) if interested. Good Luck!
