I liked it, but it sounded like Elrond and Elros’ parents were killed in the assault by the sons of Feanor. Earendil was already at sea when the assault occurred and Elwing jumping into the sea, to flee the assault, was transformed into a bird. She then flew to Earendil and that’s when they both sailed to Valinor. I was under the impression that after they went to Valinor they were not allowed to set foot in Middle-earth again. That was their “punishment”.
It does sound like that, but is actually meant to refer to what was narrated just before – and what you said as well – but leaving out the story of HOW they joined up to sail into the West! Instead, you can see Edhellond, an Elvish city attacked by corsairs in-game but used to signify the attack of Fëanor’s sons at the “Mouths of Sirion”. The crouching Elf is wounded, and if you look closely in the next shot, you can see a swan, which signifies the story of how Elwing escaped the attack and was turned into a “white bird”. So you are right of course – the story is in the visuals, as the narration tried not to go into all the details 🙂
Another great episode! You nailed it!!!
Early in the First Age of Middle-Earth Melkor raised the Misty Mountains to hinder the riding of Orome, Huntsman of the Valar.
When the Valar summoned the Eldar westward to Valinor they carved out The High Pass to give the Eldar passage westward.
