Today Vyvyanne released her plans for 2016 in a new letter from the Executive Producer.
“Our story continues in 2016 with Riding with the Rohirrim to the Battle of Pelennor Fields and then taking the battle to the enemy as we push towards the Black Gates! It is going to be an exciting year to be sure.”
With the amount of work likely involved in the Battle of Pelennor Fields, it is not too surprising we will only be getting a couple new areas next year.
“Level Cap increase to 105: Build on your heroism and power with 5 more levels of character advancement. Your Imbued Legendary Items will not need to be replaced, but will continue to grow and level with you.”
Finally!
“New Fellowship Challenges: The Battle of Pelennor Fields will contain a new instance cluster as well as a long awaited 12-man raid!”
Finally!
“New Collections: We will be adding UI elements to help you see and catalogue many of the items you can already find in game. Our first collection system will be around emotes. Ever wondered what emotes are available to you, what they look like or where you can get them? Now you will know!”
Finally!
“Quality of Life: Much like last year, we will continue to make quarterly patches that focus on bug fixing and general improvements to Quality of Life.”
There were a lot of great quality of life changes in 2015 so I am very glad they will be continuing this in 2016.
2016 should be a good year for LOTRO with new instances, new areas and a level cap increase, especially when you consider LOTRO will soon be a 9 year old MMO.
You can read the full producer’s letter here.
Crap, well there goes that nice even-number lvlcap and back to the 5s T^T
considering all the lv100 content, they could push some of it out to 105 and this new update to 110 :p
Well, well, well! A 12-man Raid for the Battle of the Pelennor Fields!
Whom might the Final Boss be?
In the book, Gothmog is in command after the defeat of the Witch-King, with no other mention of Gothmog or his fate.
Not a fan of this announcement. I’d really like it if the level cap had stayed at 100 forever. They haven’t even put recipes for Zircon Shards into the game and now they plan to raise the cap level. Fun, fun, fun. Not.
I’m almost as unexcited about the instance clusters. I know that will be a big thing for a large number of players (and I’m excited for them). But overall this announcement was more a downer than anything else.
I have had the biggest drought ever of LOTRO and this announcement excites me and I don’t even have a computer to play it on!
I just voted ‘c’ on the Minis Tirith update poll as I must ‘c’ it one day!
Merry Xmas and Merrier New Year 🙂
