Well, since we are in Gondor in LOTRO, I thought I would ask you guys a question.
Since we are near the end of Return of the King lore-wise, what are you most looking forward to towards the end of Return of the King in LOTRO?
I’m looking forward to the Battle of the Black Gate.
Leave what you are most looking forward to in the comments below!
Scouring of the Shire
The epic quest with Frodo, Sam, Gollum and the Ring falling into the magma … But I also hope that the regions/maps of Erebor will be implemented as known from The Hobbit I–III. At the moment, Erebor is just an ini without a map.
Lol, I’m still in the Trollshaws Epic Quest wise, so I know nothing of what’s after Volume 1 except for some of the Epic in Moria.
I look forward to the Scouring of the Shire. I hope it takes up an entire major update. I’d like Turbine to make one or two copies of the entire Shire region in different states, like they did with Helm’s Deep and Minas Tirith.
The Arrival of the Rohirrim!!! :O
The Preparations & Battle of Black Gate
Will we see the Druedain?
Ring destroyed + Mordor Region
The Return home, coronation…
The Scouring of the Shire
The Farewell *.*
Who wouldn’t like to see the Ring destroyed?!
And probably some session plays of Frodo & Sam path and tower imprisonment and so 😉
Bah cant edit the posts. 1 thing we forgot, The Battle of Pelennor Fields also still to come \o/
I think I am most excited to see how they handle Mordor as a whole. There are things that go on inside we could take part of since the actual people who were there never got named.
The Scouring of the Shire is a close second.
@koflein +1 Scouring of Shire
I agree with the above. I would also like to see Minas Morgul (kind of an evil Minas Tirith). I could see us having to retake the city and reclaim the valley and the pass of Cirith Ungol. I am not someone that groups but I would think that this would be a great location for group content and new skirmishes. There could be different wings to clear with different bosses and of course a big raid to take out a wounded Shelob.
I totally agree with you! That’s something that is never fully explained in the books, and I would like to see how Turbine pulls that off! 😀
After finishing LoTR story (Mordor, Shire), I hope they will send us to Northern Mirkwood, Dale, Erebor, Iron Hills with mission from King Elessar and Mithrandir to check what happened to this lands and inform them that Gondor has now king. Could be really nice to be such an envoy of King Elessar.
We could also be send to Rhun, Harad, Umbar with some scouting parties of Gondor forces. There can be also mission deep into Mordor to check if remaining there forces of orcs can make problems for recolonization of Ithilien.
We can also be asked by hobbits or Gandalf or Mayor of Bree to chase rest of Saruman forces in Southfarting and Minhiriath or by Elessar to make road connecting Arnor with Gondor safe by destroying rest of half orcs, southerners and some rebelious Dunlendings.
So there is surely enough possiblities for another 8 years of updates. But they surely need to make quests more interesting then in Minas Tirith, where they are awful.
I’d like to see Sam with the ring, saving Frodo 🙂
“I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you!”
I want to charge into the Pelennor on my warsteed with the Rohirrim and smite a few orcs.
Baring that, the battle at the Black Gates. With eagles.
Shelob!!!
Maybe an assault of minas morgul, which now witch king is gone are conguearable. Shelob raid would be great beacuse its one of the tolkiens best knowing, and by the book, deadliest creature, and the book left shes fate open. Then shire/mordor, ringbearers go west and lindon, and finally mirkwood/erebor/rhun area
All of the above, which show that there’s indeed a lot more to do! Besides, I’d like to be able to explore central / east gondor, old anorien and perhaps some more regions from U18 which all fall under the Dawnless Day-sky all with a beautiful clear blue sky (phasing, perhaps? might be technically too hard to accomplish, but one can dream).
I hope we get to ride some eagles, even if just a cut-scene as we follow the adventures of Sam and Frodo. It would be so cool to see Middle Earth from above.
Erebor and the battle of Dale, and I don’t mean in an instance like the one we have now. There is so much they can do with that… Just imagine thousands of Easterlings storming Erebor and you fighting along side Dain. The amount of quests they could come up with in the lead up for that would merit a full region (Erebor, Dale, Long lake, Northern Mirkwood) I for one would gladly pay for such a region and for once I would NOT object to running all over the place to help out with silly errands.
Absolutely. As I mentioned above.
