On their Facebook page today, LOTRO posted a new giveaway celebrating the upcoming release of the final Hobbit movie, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. US and Canadian residents over 13 can enter their information in to win both The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug on Blu-Ray/DVD as well as 1000 Turbine Points.

I would prefer if they were adding some Lotro starters codes to Hobbits DVD’s to bring new players to the game.
Sad is also that Turbine totally ignores rest of the world. So many things are only for North America. Maybe someone should show some world maps to people from Turbines and WB’s marketings cause they are blind (or uneducated). There are online games in the world that make hundreds of millions dollars in Europe and Asia only.
If Turbine and WB were not such blind and noticed rest of the world, they would have money to hire Thomas Chance. But no…. beter slowly kill the game with almost zero promotion while whole world was watching Hobbit movies and dream that some small bonuses for US and Canada players will revive the game (postcards, now DVD’s also in many EU countries you cant buy TP’s paying with SMS or phone call, while other games I play do not have such problems).
It’s often tough when it comes to sweepstakes involving physical goods, as different nations have different laws on contests like these, and as such you’ll often see restrictions. I’m pretty sure this is why small font sizes were invented – filling the bottom of the page with as much legal statements as possible.
