Lilikate’s Creatures:- Wild Animals of Western Gondor.

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the second installment of Lilikate’s Creatures. I have been exploring the lands of Weatern Gondor to discover what creatures roamed these pastures and mountains.

It has been very exciting!

Although I have been very busy recently fighting the forces of evil I am not yet strong enough to wander these new places freely. I have uncovered many creatures who would make a quick snack of this Hobbit.  It is possible I have missed a creature or two, so if you see any wild animals not covered here why not tell me about them.

Next time I will be showing you all those creatures that tried to eat me!

I hope you all enjoy looking at these creatures and say hello to them when you are riding in the those far away regions.

Not very far from the walls of Dol Amroth I found these great Stags! Here they are named Cliff Harts. Very nimble and not too keen on strangers.

Within the city of Dol Amroth and all along the shore line there are Seagulls flying high in the sky. Their calls and cries are very distinct. In the city they land on the docks and try and see if the fishermen have any thing tasty for them to snack upon.

Western Gondor has very large cows! I stood shoulder high to this one. They will ever believe me back home in the East Farthing. These creatures chew the grass and moo… Quite right really.

Where there are Cows you can generally find a Bull not too far away. The Bull was huge and had two big horns on his head. I really liked these creatures they seemed very contented.

This is the Valley Boar, he is also huge and home to so many flies! Yuk. Like the Boars at home these creatures also get tetchy if you get to close.

This Goat I met as I was exploring the higher ground. Nimble footed he was well suited to the rocky terrain. His coat was the same colour as my hair!

Hinds are to be found in most green and lush places of this region. This Vale Hind I found in the Blackroot Vale. Like most hinds they are very timid.

No area is complete without a Fox, this little chap was quite pleased to see me and seemed very curious about me. I am always happy to meet Foxes in my travels.

Here is a Bunny I found wandering in the Vale area chewing on grass and looking very cute. My good friend Miss Fincin would have loved a cuddle with this Rabbit.

This Bear mistook this Buggins for Breakfast! I had to run away very fast. As you can see he didn’t get me. I shall be more careful next time.

I have saved the best for last! Here is a Bull the size of an Oliphant. The local people call him The Great Bull and he wanders the open grasslands with smaller friends. He was more than happy to let me ride along side him too. I really like this enormous creature!

There are also turtles. Some are between Dol Amroth and corsair camp in which we make dailies from the Library. One big turtle is as a war band in Lamedon. But maybe you add them to creatures trying to eat you (I am not sure of clear distinction, because that Blackroot Bear also wanted to eat you 😉 )

That Black Bear Chased me quite some way! not much difference between him and the Shore Turtle (Will be in the next article). But that’s how the articles work out sometimes. The Big Green Turtle will also be featured next time. I think I have only the Crebain left to sketch.
