Greetings LOTRO Players,
What an amazing day June 14th was! The event was so great that it fried my desktop before we even got to the top! but enough about me, lets talk about the most famous player run event in MMO history!
We gathered at the Forsaken Inn to join the LMB Mega Band for their introductory set. Crowds became so large so quickly that friends were easily lost and hitting the “N” button was no help at all!
From my stance on the rock, trying to sync songs and remain in-game I noticed a special Dwarf Tosmii! I sent a kiss in his general direction before “Falling and hitting my head again”. So many rocks in the Lone Lands!
This year the event was streamed as far as I am aware from three different sources. Sapience took time on his day off to stream Weatherstock for us. I personally thank him for his stream, as it was the only one my old lap-top would tune into. From afar I did get to enjoy most of the show.
LOTRO Players News team and the guys at LOTRO Reporter also streamed the event. I will be sure to watch all the streams in the coming week.
Congratulations to the Winners of the Free Peoples Choice Award: A Rock and a Hard Place, who won the crowd over with a song about bacon. I am so happy for Bruzo et al! I know they are all still in shock from their win. Maybe a few more folks on Dwarrowdelf will be at their regular friday shows from now on 🙂
Congratulations to The Shades who won the LMB cup, by a single vote, so narrowly besting The Breakfast Club.
The quality of arrangements and compositions was amazing this year! I take my Hobbity hat off to Achazia and Dallofin! Well done to all of you.
All the bands who performed at Weatherstock this year, and during the Weatherstck Concert Series were wonderful. I enjoyed the variety of styles, genres, and setups.
Server issues, there was lag! alot of lag, fires were lit in may a motherboard. This just goes to show how popular a tradition Weatherstock has become. Generally people were wonderful at taking off hats and cloaks, in some cases sitting for the entire event to reduce problems for other players.
Many of us suffering this affliction met again in the chat room of Sapience’s twitch stream, although we may have missed many of the /say lyrics. We did enjoy being able to view the event and hang out as a group.
Thank you to all those who came to Landroval to enjoy the event! Without your support and participation there would not be an epic event annually.
To the LMB and all those in the Lonely Mountain Band, Congratulations. You made the event look too easy to organize and run. Congratulations to those who sacrificed their own enjoyment to keep visitors safe. To the crafters and vendors, thank you for the hours spent preparing yummies and consumables for us all to enjoy. From the newest recruit to Harperella, all who enjoyed last Saturday thank you. To security! I missed you guys but your service was top notch. To those unseen, we thank you for aiding us at the LMB with the free folk who has a little too much of Tinki’s brews.
Lhinnthel- Thanks for the screen shots!
I am looking forward to next year, hopefully I will be able to last a little longer in game than without.
If you could, how would you improve Weatherstock to make next years event even better for everyone?
I just discovered Weatherstock on Monday 6/16/2014 and I’m soooo disappointed that I missed the live event. I’ve watched almost the whole festival and I can’t wait until I get home to finish it tonight.
I not only loved the jamming but also the costumes and syncronized finishes. One band smoked pipe weed and blew smoke heart rings at the same time at the end of their performance. So Frigging AWESOME!
I was waiting for some syncronized dancing by the audience!
I can’t even imagine the time involved to get this co-ordinated.
I asked my co-workers (all LOTRO players) if they had ever heard of this event and none of them had either! I’ve shared this link with them and next year, you will have 5 more attendees!
I’m guessing these bands do mini concerts in LOTRO land from time to time? I hope I don’t have to wait a whole year see a live concert.
Also, thank you for live streaming! This was the BOMB and your live chat group was fun to listen to.
Regards from someone truly impressed….

The bands who played at Weatherstock come from a variety of servers. The core element of the musical community can be found on the Landroval server. Many bands play over the weekends, so ride a mount into Bree and ask in /advice or /regional to find out what is happening.
A good place to wander past often when looking for entertainment is the area outside the Prancing Pony Inn, Bree.
