Sapience posted on the forums about some more upcoming downtime
Downtime Notice: Tuesday, May 27th from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT)
The LOTRO Game Servers and services and http://myaccount.turbine.com will be offline for maintenance on Tuesday, May 27th from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT). Thanks for your patience, and we’ll see you back in the game soon!
From the look of this post, this looks to be just some standard downtime for maintenance, but I find it very odd that they just had downtime (with extended time)
I’m not one to don the tinfoil hat, but this seems to me like they must be patching an exploit (of course this is totally MY speculation, and does not reflect anyone else here at LOTRO Players or The Middle Earth Network)
I’m also wondering if they will extended the Spring Festival at all, due to this downtime falling while it’s running…
How will you be spending your downtime?
I for one will spend the downtime watching “Signs.” It’s been way too long…
It is a little suspicious but sometimes I think they pre-load updates or maybe it is to start upgrading them for all the water tech of the sea.
My best guess though is that it actually is what they say it is and that is that.
Sounds like at least part of this update was for their online payment vendor to move processing to another data center. I’m not sure exactly what that has to do with the game itself, but would explain the difficulty in getting a good ETA. Sometimes when you’re working with outside companies, things happen that are outside of your control.
