LOTRO Academy: 30 – Rise of Isengard

LOTRO Academy
Branick and Krorain have a lot to say about Rise of Isengard™, the upcoming expansion pack for Lord of the Rings Online™ in this Pre-Isengard episode. We’ve also been quite busy in Moria during the past week, so there’s plenty to talk about. Thanks for listening.

  1. Good work on the clobbering. It’s one of those things that champs are often brought along for in groups. Interrupting inductions is vitally important in some fights and all around helpful otherwise, though I can think of one boss fight where you don’t want to do that (Halls of Crafting). I’ve sadly seen several champs fail at this, so good on ya for taking the initiative.

Just for future reference, it’s common practice before entering Moria to farm Thorin’s Hall rep items in Sarnur in Ered Luin in order to buy the prized Thorin’s Halls goat for roughly five and a half gold once you reach kindred. It’s a level 45+ area so practically perfectly timed for entering Moria. That way you can save your Moria rep items for the guards instead of the miners and be able to buy your legendary trait from them at 58, which requires kindred standing. Hopefully this saves your future characters from wearing out shoes walking through Moria.

And there is a new crafting guild rep level which will take an additional 45k reputation points. Keep making those guild items.

Looking forward to the next episode.

To expand on what Tapkoh said above, you can also get the Ale Association rep goat, available during all festivals. I think it is pretty much the same price as all other rep mounts, and you have to be kindred with them as well to purchase it. Obviously you still have to grind out the rep in one fashion or another, but this provides another means to get a goat for Moria, and you don’t have to be that high of level to get started!

I don’t know how you guys made it though there by walking – I think I would have gone extra crazy if I didn’t have my Thorin’s goat!

I enjoy your podcast – keep it up!
