New Player Question
Why do they limit mounted combat to Rohan?
Week In LOTRO
Celebathien
- Went through several instances I could run solo working on deeds. Did “At the Stone of Erech” and learned Mordor has a Greyhound system.
- Got Khelevorn caught up to his running companion in the epic questline. Time to head south with the Rangers.
- Attempted The Vile Maw solo with my level 115 Hunter. That didn’t work, actually. Badly. This is probably less to do with the situation and more with my Hunter (read: me) possibly being sucky.
Crister
- Remmorchant boss two progress – our group’s dps has been the focus of our improvement and we made it further than ever before – almost phased boss before second daughter, was able to kill two daughters and do a significant amount of damage to that big ugly bug – we’ll get it.
- On one attempt on boss two I accidentally equipped a level 1 cosmetic shield.
- Found a helmet glitch that makes my head invisible with a hooded cloak, goes well with my bringer of the dead concept with my captain.
Gwaerendes
- More mounts for the stable
- Helped my Kin leader get fragments for the Shadow Goat, and experienced two things I hadn’t before (and got lots of titles) – which led to a few more adventures
- Discovered I can handle some things on my own and cleared a deed doing it
Sanswinda
- Started my second trip through the new dwarf quests with my minstrel.
- Ran the Halls of Night with Gwaerendes.
- Kept working on Minas Tirith quests on the field trip.
Teriadwyn
- Teriadwyn actually went back out into the Moors on Landroval and ranked up to rank 3! Also passed judgment on some outfits of other freeps.
- Terifluffz bit some things and died a bunch.
- Galebrilith (Khelevorn’s questing companion) achieved her Mistress of Stairs title while helping him catch up.
Pineleaf
- My main warden was ambushed by a moose at Gloin’s campsite in Misthallow
- My Stout-Axe reached his cousins in Mordor but no one recognized him.
- During Friday Night Fights, we ran Battle in the Tower and The Halls of Lore.

Hello Lotro Players Podcast,
I am up to ep.70 of the Lotro Academy Podcast. For reference it is dated Dec. 20, 2012. I am glad to hear the Academy kin and the Field Trip are still going. It is really amazing for a kin or guild in any game to last for so long!
What, for each of you, is your favorite thing to do in Lotro? Mine is to drink from the Sinister Keg. It usually leads to some sort of adventure, which I find entertaining. This last time I drank from the keg, I ended up in Angmar. This time, my lvl 33 Beorning woke up pantless in Tyrn Lhiug (good luck pronouncing that!). There was not a stable master there so I decided to try to get to the closest one. All the way across the map in Aughaire! I hopped on my horse and took off. Everything was going great! I was avoiding aggro, mostly, and outrunning things and not getting hit. Then I made a wrong turn into a goblin camp. I got dismounted, but I kept running.Right into a dead end. Somehow, I made it back out of the camp with 3 mobs in tow. Ahead in my path were 2 of those bog guardian type mobs so I decided to stop and fight. Luckily, the third mob, a goblin I think, leashed and ran back. Two lvl 44 Royal Crown something or others, I think, started wailing on me. One was melee the other ranged. I still can’t believe I killed them both instead of instantly dying. I think the Bee Swarm skill was the only thing doing dmg.because it took awhile to kill them. Between that and the Beorning heal, I still have yet to die on this toon. After that little encounter, I made it the rest of the way to Aughaire with little trouble and got the stable master there.
Is the game more forgiving at lower lvls or are Beornings just op? Anyways, thank you for doing the Podcast! I look forward to it every week!
In good cheer,
Roger
