This week’s featured events:
Winterfest runs throughout the weekend on Crickhollow. Twenty bands will play over the course of three days, starting with an opening show from Second Breakfast’s house band, Breakfast Club, followed by a special edition of Bread & Jam. All solo and group musicians are welcome to share a song in a round-robin style during the Bread & Jam session, and storytellers are also welcome to tell a brief Yule tale.
Laurelin’s Shire Angling Club will be making a special trek up north for their first Forochel Expedition this Sunday at 2:30pm EST/7:30pm GMT. There will be a trophy prize and a place in the record books for the largest flounder caught, as well as the usual prizes for number of fish caught. Show up in Michel Delving to travel together or join the group in Sûri-kylä.
Several bands have scheduled their special Yule concerts this week. There will be two grand shows back to back on Thursday on Landroval: the Remediators play their concert in Frostbluff at 9:30pm and Eriador Music Society will perform at their usual time and location east of the Founder’s Statue Park in Michel Delving at 10:30pm.

Quite a few concerts and regular events will be on hold over the last two weeks of the year because of the holidays, but there will also be a few new events on the schedule. The HOPE will play Livin la Vida Loca, a program of macarena, tango, and more at Frostbluff next Saturday, December 24th at 1pm on Landroval.
The Legion of the Silent River will be holding an open Draigoch Raid on the Crickhollow server in January. Please visit their thread to get all the details–the raid will be held on January 14th, but all participants must attend a preparatory meeting on January 8th.
Festival time:
Most of you are probably already aware that the Yule Festival will now be starting on Monday, December 19th. It runs through January 16th. The official Twitter feed unveiled a few of the items we’ll be eager to procure on Monday, including a new cloak, kites, a robe, and a reindeer mount.

Ales & Tales … with The Tolkien Professor on December 19th!
Hullo! Tis time for a Doubly Special ‘Ales & Tales’! We will be visiting Frostbluff for our annual Yule Festival holiday show and The Tolkien Professor will be visiting us for some lore-bestowing! As such, the format for this show will be different.
Special Start Time and Format:
Nibbles & Nobs starts early at 8:00pm with open-stage. Old Winyards will play an opening set of holiday music at 9:00pm (all times are EST, /servertime). Then the Tolkien Professor will join us at 9:30 for some lore discussion (details on how to participate found below). Lastly, Old Winyards will play a closing set of holiday music sometime around 10:30/11:00ish.
There will be layer wranglers to help pull folks into the correct layer. Ask in Frostbluff regional or look for announcements in the /alesandtales channel.
Instructions for asking questions of The Tolkien Professor
Here is the link to the Lore Hall Discord channel: https://discord.gg/mCs57eC. Folks can either use the web-based version of the app or download the local client. In this channel, only Corey can talk … everyone else is automatically muted. Also, there is a text channel they have opened called #ales-and-tales — this will be for question-asking from our end during the event. Corey will monitor this channel and respond accordingly. Please, ONLY use this channel for submitting questions to Corey — he can’t sift through comments and chatter and random pie-talk to get to questions, so comments, chatter and pie-talk needs to go elsewhere… such as our usual outlets e.g. /alesandtales and /say.
Professor Corey will field lore questions and also provide some insight on various areas of Tolkien lore… such as Yuletide holidays! So, gather your lore-questions and brace yourselves for lore-answers!
