Community Calendar:
I’d like to introduce the new LOTRO Players Community Events calendar. You may view this calendar directly on Google where you can click on an event to add it to your calendar or simply copy the full calendar to your own Google calendar. The calendar will be updated as events come in, so it will be more current than this events listing. I will still maintain this weekly listing in order to present more information on highlighted events. If you have any feedback, please share it in the comments section. As always, events may be added to the calendar by using this form.
This week’s featured events:
The Russian language LOTRO servers closed over a year ago, but the community is still very much alive. On Saturday, that community comes together to celebrate 8 years of Russian LOTRO with a music festival on the Landroval server: Music Over Arnor. The festival features Russian bands as well as others from around the globe set over the ruins of the Kingdom of Arnor. As Gilnaure Shrewmouse of host band Radagast’s Pipe said: “We hope it will remind: the past is grand, but it has already been left behind, and there is the dawn of a new Age ahead!” See how much these Russian players have added to the music and events scene by coming to the festival from 1pm-6pm on Amon Raith [12.7S, 52.8W] in the North Downs. A Drunken Horse Race will be held on Crickhollow Sunday at 3pm. The race starts at the top of the steps in front of Thorin’s Hall and winds around Ered Luin, The Shire, Bree-land, The North Downs, and Evendim with the “assistance” of 8 mugs of ale. Racers may choose any path they like in between checkpoints, but a drink of ale is required at each stop. Please visit the official forums thread for more details on the course, rules, and prizes.
All events are listed in Eastern Daylight Time (-4 GMT)/server time, but an additional time zone is listed for EU server events. You may add events or post corrections in the comments section, but the fastest and best way to get it on this page is to submit a form. Thanks, Fincin! LOTRO Artists is one of the best resources out there and I am truly indebted to what they’ve put together. This listing includes everything that is on that calendar, but we also cover events that are out of their purview, such as the Drunken Horse Race, open creep raids, and the German server events. I pull from many sources to put together the most comprehensive activity listing possible; most of these sources are cited at the bottom of the August vacation post (https://lotroplayers.com/2016/08/05/community-events-in-august/).
We added the new Google calendar to provide a way for players to easily add some or all events to their own calendar. I seek to keep that one up-to-date throughout the week. The LOTRO Artists calendar may work better for some, this one might be better for others. I’m glad to have a chance to offer another resource for the community.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was hoping to color code the Google calendar, but unfortunately color changes do not appear on a public calendar. Early on I considered whether to divide events by server on this weekly listing, but decided it was best to encourage people to make characters on multiple servers to check out everything that’s going on. I will explore other options to make it a bit easier to sort by server, but until then Andang’s advice will make things easier for you.
