LOTRO Academy: 123 – Bonus Content

LOTRO Academy: 123 - Bonus Content

Unfortunately we were unable to record a new episode for this week, but we do have some bonus content for you. Before recording episode 123, I decided to record some of our conversations on TeamSpeak during the Academy Field Trip. There’s really no format to this bit of discussion, but Pineleaf was certainly on point for this informative, though off-topic, bonus segment. I hope you enjoy it. LOTRO Academy will return next week with episode 124.

Episodes of LOTRO Academy are recorded on Friday and posted the following Wednesday. Leave a comment below or via email (podcast at lotroacademy dot com) prior to 7 PM CDT on the Friday following the episode’s release for your comment to be featured in the Listener Feedback section.

  1. As a dwarf, I am not the most cunning linguist, so the early part of your Bonus Material podcast was passed in haze of ale, However, a shout out to your co-host who raised the specter of Tom Lehrer, an accomplished Pianist and Satirist in equal proportion whom was the master of a somewhat lost art that I was exposed to by my parents friends 33 RPM album collections in my youth. Some of my favorites of his offerings include: The Masochism Tango, Who’s Next, and Poisoning Pigeons in the Park (Note the use of the Oxford Comma!). As a matter of fact I recently found two of his albums in a musty record store and gifted them to my daughter who has a burgeoning vinyl collection that is the envy of her friends! Cheers! 2. P.S. – Forgot my perhaps my favorite: The Vatican Rag! Refreshingly irreverent to say the least…

“First you get down on your knees, fiddle with your rosaries, bow your head with great respect, and — genuflect, genuflect, genuflect! Make a cross on your abdomen, when in Rome do like a Roman, Ave Maria, gee it’s good to see ya, doin’ the Vatican Rag!” (all of this is preceded by a discussion of revising the liturgy as a result of Vatican II — this is TL’s “contribution” to that effort…)

  3. I usually don’t post comments online. But I just wanted to let you guys know that you do a great job with this podcast. I listen every week. Keep up the good work.

Some might find it annoying when you get off topic. If so ignore them, I personally love it. Where else can I get intelligent conversation about Tolkien’s writing (not from my job, wife, or two toddlers).

If you see me running around Landroval (main is Winterale) say hello. I hope to eventually have the time to level up an alt on Arkenstone.

    Keep it classy LOTRO Academy.
