This week’s featured events:
Daylak Darksbane, a beloved Landroval player and member of the band Bright Star, passed away last month after a battle with cancer. His bandmates played a tribute at their Wednesday concert in the Park, but there will be another chance to celebrate his life on Friday night. Friends and well wishers are welcome to come to Aevirith’s house at 9 Chestnut Street in the Ballin neighbourhood off the Bree-land homesteads at 9pm. The memorial will include performances by Animal House, Les Beaux Chapeaux, Beno, Orladan, Sholah, and Animal House.
LOTRO Artists reprinted a Lonely Mountain Free Press interview with Daylak from a couple of years ago, and the Landy Lately included a lovely tribute to him, reprinted below (click on the image for a larger version).
Evernight’s Strength and Honour will be hosting a server chicken run to Minas Tirith on Sunday, February 7th at 12pm EST. They’ll be running from Sandson’s Farm in the Shire all the way to Minas Tirith so plan for about 3 hours of travel time to do it with some small breaks in between some areas.
Everyone is welcome to join as either a chicken or an escort. If you’d like to help escort the chickens to Minas Tirith or be a chicken, just contact Danys. All communication will be via TeamSpeak, so make sure to download it prior to the event. You should also complete chicken play quests from “Which Laid First” through to “Returning to Wald” before the run if you wish to join in as a chicken. This includes the “Flying the Coop” quests, but finishing “Free Range” is not required.
All events are listed in Eastern Standard Time (-5 GMT)/server time, but an additional time zone is listed for EU server events. You may add events or post corrections in the comments section, but the fastest and best way to get it on this page is to submit a form. Looking back:
It took 5 1/2 hours to get The Tolkien Professor to Minas Tirith while he was operating in chicken form. Over 100 people took part in the event.
