According to an article by The New York Daily News, a student in Texas was suspended for threatening to cause another student to disappear with The One Ring.
“I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence,” the boy’s father later wrote in an email. “If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.”

When I was in school a kid got suspended for pointing a pencil at a teacher and yelling AVADA KADAVRA!
It’s a good thing he didn’t use it. None of the rings of power should be used lightly. As a teacher myself I hate to say we live in an emotionally charged environment, with or without recent world events. I’m not justifying what the administration did was right beyond just a little humorous headline, but any threat to do some kind of harm to another child, or group of children, should “not be taken lightly.”
