LOTRO Poems #9

Hail Friends!

Welcome to the 9th edition of LOTRO Poems. This was one busy week for Casual Raiders as we raided alot. Many of our kin who had just gotten to lvl 100 got their FA symbols. Also I experimented some more on the yellow traits of a burglar, it’s full of tricks and so much fun.

This week I am featuring a beautiful poem sent by Amenhir of Rohan. “Hail to the brave Rohirrim” is a uniquely structered poem. With awesome mounted combat in LOTRO and amazingly filmed scenes of the march of Rohirrim in the Lord of The Rings movies, this poem is a wonderful tribute to them.

Hail the brave Rohirrim

Two set as one, the beast and man,

come to heed the battle callm,

unfaltering beneath the enemy barrage,

upright in the saddle mustering the charge,

with courage extant, daring not to fall,

The horse and rider, armour clad, weapon drawn,

the quickening madness, the enveloping dark,

through blood and sweat their resolve not spartan,

tales of the hero’s triumph, victories to hearken,

as each volley meets it’s mark,

though light may pierce the shadowed foes,

their forces left shattered and spent,

the fierceness of battle tallies the score,

horse and rider asunder upon the moor,

their lives for freedom, the cost was met.

Calm or call: is this wordplay as I do quite like the juxtiposition of these two… a calm in a battle would be a lull in the fighting and a call would be an Order to rouse fighters.

  2. Amenhir /

    It’s a typo.
