About the Scout diary: It was maybe six months ago or so that a developer named Kelsan left a note saying he was our new Overlord. We had not had one devoted to Scouts for about two years before then.
He left a note asking for opinions and feedback on things that might be changed for us, like all the classes’ Overlords did then. He posted sporadically for a month or so after, but has not been heard from since. And, since RockX was the one who posted our diary, something may have changed as far as who was making the effort for our role.
So, hopefully that is partly why the Scout diary had so little information in it, and the ones posted for the other classes will be a bit more thorough!
I hope you are right.
Oh, I forgot the other thing I was going to comment on, the roles in the Big Battles.
My guess is the Officer role will be something like what we had to do with the Mirkwood Epics, where we had an elf follow us around with a banner, and we could choose an Offensive, Defensive, or Balanced one. I think in some of the battles, there may have been a few different options as well.
But it may be something like that, where you maybe have a certain perspective over the battlefield and can choose from a list of approaches to have the npc soldiers take. I doubt it has anything to do with commanding real players, though.
Given that the solo battles are to take up to 30 minutes, and the group battles up to an hour, they are going to have to come up with ways to make those roles rather compelling, I would think.
I am with Brax and would probably prefer just to wade into battle 🙂
Outta my way, I wanna shield-surf!
*laughs*
Me too, and I am no Hunter! Nor can I use shields…*ponders*
