Our series on Skirmishes continues. Pineleaf Needles, Skirmish expert, joins us for a short interview followed by a discussion of the new Skirmishes added in Update 3. Are they worth your Turbine Points? Give a listen, and find out. For more Skirmish information, be sure to check out Pineleaf’s detailed Skirmish Primers at A Casual Stroll to Mordor. Thanks for a great episode! I hope you’ll be able to bring in other guest experts in the future, that works well. Try and get Pineleaf again for future skirmish talks!

When you talk about soldiers, I’d like to hear some suggestions for which soldier roles work well with which character classes, or (perhaps) how the various character classes should approach soloing with what soldier roles. I think this would be useful advice.

Mysteri, I hope you get better soon!

Next week’s episode will include a discussion of the various soldiers and what classes they work well with.

One point I should note: Protectors of Thangulhad is located in Mirkwood, not the location I mentioned during the episode.

Nice episode – many thanks to Pineleaf for the primer on the new skirmishes. I’m Premium, and haven’t purchased any of the new content yet. I might hold off on them and cross my fingers that they release bundle deals eventually, but I do appreciate the basic knowledge on the basic mechanics. Sounds like my hunter should have a fun time with Icy Crevase, DPS race and all.

Skirm-wise, my main has always been on-off skirming, but now find it useful to skirm on him when I can to accrue the skirm points needed for not only epic Helegrod gear, but also to pick up the class quest Carn Dum/Urugarth items for my other toons.

I look forward to hear more about skirm soldier tips next week, especially ideas, as Indy said, on picking the “right” soldier for each class. Keep up the great work, cheers!

  4. Thanks for the comments guys. Pineleaf was kind enough (thanks Pineleaf!) to prerecord the Skirmish Soldier segment after we finished Episode 20. One of the questions I get most has been which soldiers are useful for which classes, and honestly that’s the primary reason I asked Pineleaf if he was interested in helping. While it’s too late to add to the segment, I can say that you’ll be able to hear Pineleaf’s Skirmish Soldier Recommendations next week in Episode 21.

    Thanx Indy 🙂

I hope I get well too. It was a great episode and next weeks is also great (or will be :)) Maybe next week I will manage to be on time and find out where to get my soldier a picnic basket from.

Thanx for listening everyone and I hope you all have fun skirmishing this week. 🙂

Great episode guys. Having just migrated over from Codemasters, it was very helful to get some information on the new skirmishes. Pineleaf was an excellent guest too, who gave a great deal of good advice. Thanks.
